I received my furniture earlier this week. It is absolutely perfect and exactly what I wanted and ordered. The workmanship is of the highest quality. The fabrics (Baltimore Navy and Baltimore Merlot) are exactly the colors of the swatches you sent me and really, really nice. I want to tell you how pleased I am with my entire Carolina Chair experience. Although I had purchased many items online before, I had never purchased furniture. I went to several local furniture stores to see if I could get what I wanted--I couldn't. That was when I decided to try Carolina Chair. I carefully researched your company on the internet. I read all your reviews. I looked at all your website photos. I measured my room and compared the measurements to those given. I ordered swatches and more swatches from you and other sites. I asked questions about how you would put the fabric on the furniture. Then, I didn't get that fabric anyway. I told you what I wanted and got your initial price quote. I revised my order several times with additional quotes each time which I may say were very reasonable. Finally, I ordered. Your patience was remarkable. I loved the pictures you sent me before you shipped my completed furniture. The delivery was exactly eight weeks to the day after my order even allowing for the length of the delivery process. I would also like to add that your understanding and trust after my credit card problem was greatly appreciated. It did not interfere with my scheduled delivery at all. It all arrived in GREAT shape last evening. We love it and are excited to have it in place.

It was just super that you were able to make all the changes to the Eliot loveseat and chair we requested. The physical changes (increased arm height to 22.5", reduced seat depth to 20", decreased seat height to 17.5", and extension of arms to the front of the frame) along with the poly fiber wrapped back cushions is perfect for us. We are a short family (up to about 5' 6" with relatively short legs) and I have Muscular Dystrophy. With the changes you made we find the seating so very comfortable as well as the process of sitting and standing up again, so easy. We also really enjoy what we think is a rich rugged compact appearance due to elimination of the skirt, the 3"tapered feet, the bordered T-Back cushions, and the special request Barrow "tabernas linen" fabric. We feel the 2 loveseats and 2 chairs create a very pleasant arrangement which will encourage visiting in the relatively small area, rarely used before, in front of our living room fireplace.

You have been JUST SUPER!!!! Can't thank you enough for all your patience and help along the way!!!! AND.....PLEASE do thank your brother for all of his help in this process as well all of your employees who created these pieces for us. Bob and I recently enclosed a screened porch to convert it to a 4 season sunroom. I wasn't quite sure how to furnish it, but I knew I didn't want wicker or rattan. We exchanged ideas, and you helped me with the design. You suggested two one-armed chairs, and created a design for us. Your brother added an additional arm on each chair and added 3 inches in height to the back pillows. I then decided to add an armless chair. Because of the special you were advertising at the time, we were eligible for the free ottoman! After receiving several swatches from you, we chose Lamb Suede Lichen for our color. The furniture arrived 3 days ago. It is absolutely beautiful, exceeding our expectations!! The scale and color are "tres chic!!" We couldn't be more pleased! My husband loves the exceptional quality and workmanship!

Our loveseat arrived in Ketchikan Monday (January 18th) and we were there to pick it up as soon as it was off-loaded from the barge. Of course it was pouring rain (we do live in a rain forest) but with help from friends it made it into our house in great shape.

We are so pleased with it! Not only does it look great, it is comfy. Even my extremely picky husband is impressed with the quality of workmanship and with how sturdy the loveseat is -- the casters are wonderful as we move the loveseat when we watch TV.

I think I told you previously that we were living with a rocking loveseat we bought used in 1976 -- paid $25 for it. We have been looking for years for a replacement, but never found anything that would fit in the small space available for it in our very small living room. When I stumbled on your web site, I was very dubious about buying furniture sight unseen, not to mention the thought of having to ship it from North Carolina to Alaska, but what finally persuaded us to give your company a try was the thought of having the loveseat built in the United States by a small family-owned company.

Custom upholstery of this quality is extremely expensive in New York City. With Carolina Chair I was able to get the details and craftsmanship I wanted at a great price. I wanted a pair of English-style traditional club chairs with rolled arms, walnut legs and casters. I wanted clean lines, so I opted for no skirt and squared cushions. I also wanted to cut the traditional reference with casual denim fabric. Carolina Chair's denim is 100% Cotton which is a big plus. These will look great opposite my leather chesterfield sofa in my open NYC loft. View photo.

Hello, I purchased a great Yeats style sectional from you a few years ago. Today, my friend's dog destroyed the back cushions (long story). The fabric that I have is no longer available, apparently, but if I could, I would like to replace the back cushions with the "Colchester Truffle" fabric. I would need 3 regular and two corner cushions, standard filling. Is it possible to purchase just the cushions? If so please quote me a price. Thank you. I love my sectional and want to keep it if at all possible.

My sleeper couch was delivered this morning, before Christmas as promised. The delivery personnel were very friendly, and were quite careful in getting the couch unpacked, up the stairs, and into the study. Bumps here and there, but nothing to speak of; some of the little turns were quite narrow. The delivery person opened up the sleeper to ensure that it worked properly. Anyway, I am very pleased with the look and feel of the fabric. It sits very comfortably and looks great where I have it. All in all, I'm very pleased with all aspects of this transaction. Hello and thank you to the whole crew! My new sofa is so comfy - absolutely love the matching pillows. If you look close in the pictures I’ve attached, you can see where the back side of the sofa leans and actually sits perfectly inside of the bay window. I could have never measured and achieved the perfect fit. I simply wanted a sofa that would be somewhat centered and low enough to enjoy the wonderful veiw we have living in the mountains. I have already had the pleasure of watching the snow fall while watching the TV without having to move from my relaxed position. It just doesn’t get any better than that!!! I took the pictures the day it arrived, so it’s a little cluttered looking. Having a smaller sofa now has given me so many more rearranging options. I just have to put my living room back together now. LOL. Cathy - I'm delighted with the chair. It's the perfect size, fabric and color. And I didn't realize it came on wheels. As it turns out, I was probably conservative in my measurements and the chair could have been done per your standard model, but the loss of an inch in height and width doesn't matter. I am sorry to have been so ungrateful by not getting back to you sooner. You know I have been with guests and after they left on Sunday I had a lot of work putting my place back together. You know how it is. You were absolutely right. My guests and I absolutely loved the AirDream mattress. I could sleep on it indefinitely. The sofa was easy to open and very uncomplicated to inflate.

When I first decided to get a sofa bed, I started searching on line for sofa beds available on stores. I was interested in some of them but I decided first to check consumers’ reports on their experience. All of the stores I had in mind (which were supposedly high end stores) had a very bad review as to the quality of the products or the customer care during and after acquisition of their furniture. I decided, therefore, to search on line for a sofa bed. I found something I liked on CarolinaChair.com. I was very hesitant to get something I could not see and try first but their good reviews helped me make up my mind to take my chances and that's the reason I am writing one today.

I do not regret to have taken my chances and I am very pleased to have done so. Since the first moment I contacted CarolinaChair I felt I was dealing with caring and understanding people. I felt that they were not just trying to sell furniture but trying to meet my needs the best they could. They answered all of my questions and helped me decide as to the type of sofa and fabrics that would meet my criteria. I felt totally free and welcome to contact them as many times as I needed and most important of all they worked with me on a crunch time. I was expecting guests and needed the sofa right away. They had it ready in a week and in two weeks I had it in my living room. It has been my best purchasing experience this year. I wish everybody were that friendly and committed to serve the need of the customers. And, lastly but not least I am completely satisfied with my purchase. The sofa looks and feels great and the mattress is just wonderful. My guests and I simply loved the AirDream mattress. It does not feel at all like a sofa bed, but like a regular and good bed to sleep on indefinitely. Without hesitation I highly recommend CarolinaChair.

I ordered a full sleeper sofa, and within a month's time (to the exact date!) it was not only custom manufactured, but also delivered! The sofa was well made, the fabric was beautiful and the cost was very reasonable!

I've worked in the furniture retail business in the past and can't tell you how pleasant this experience was throughout the entire process!! From calling and speaking to the owner who helped explain the product, to receiving swatches, and finally to an excellent delivery service, who gave a two hour window (most take up your entire day!) and showed up within the first half hour, setup the sleeper bed and proceeded to show us how the Air Dream mattress worked.

Greetings from Austin! So many of your testimonials are written just after receiving the furniture that I decided it might be helpful to have someone testify as to how your furniture holds up. I am delighted to say that 8 months after receiving the most beautiful sectional and ottoman from Carolina Chair, and after 3 boys and their friends have thoroughly tested, bounced, and veged out on them both, your furniture is extremely well-made and durable. I chose the velvety-soft Microdenier Baltimore Pecan fabric which washes up very easily if ever my darling boys get something on it. The curving arms are my favorite part, while my 11-yr-old loves to lay on the huge ottoman while watching a movie. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the BACK of the couch is. I was planning to put two long bookcases behind each side of the couch, but I changed my mind after it arrived. The sectional is gorgeous! After 2 months of ownership, I can see how the materials are going to wear well. We have the standard cushions and they are firm and give good support. Guests love the Air Dream mattress in the sleeper — the kids would sleep on it every night if they could. The couch is so comfortable that you don’t notice that it is a sleeper. The Baltimore fabrics are thick and comfy, but do have a nap that shows hand prints, etc. which is something to consider if you like your fabric naps to lie flat. Cathy is very responsive and any questions or problems are dealt with immediately. CarolinaChair is a wonderful company to work with!

For seven years I have been struggling to find a sofa for my VERY small living room in a 1920’s bungalow with less than 1,000 sq. ft. in the main living area. I knocked out the ceilings in my living room to give it a much airier feel but the wonderful casement windows open inward making traditional furniture impossible as it is too large, with too big arms and too tall or too uncomfortable. In addition, my living room is my guest room. After years of shopping and trying to find someone to make me a sofa to my specifications I found CarolinaChair and fell in love. Not only were they willing to customize the pieces to my specification, but they went out of their way to shave off inches to make it fit exactly in the space available. By customizing the ottoman to not only fit in the space but open up and store my linens, they made me the perfect sofa. I wanted a fabric that was easy to maintain and matched my custom distemper paint that looks like an old bomber jacked. My guests love the comfy and easy to blow-up bed and the sofa itself is extra comfy--now I have my on deluxe chaise to lie next to the fire and read books.

In short:

• Great people to work with.
• Great product that is comfortable and well made.
• FAST, I had my CUSTOM sofa in 4 weeks. Any other “off the shelf” sofa takes at least 8-12 weeks.

Now I have a Guest Room, Reading Nook, Storage bin and Entertainment area that seats 5—all in 14 square feet.

I love to design furniture that is multifunctional and Cathy and her team helped my make my ideas come to life.

First of all, I wanted to thank you and your company for making me look like a hero with my clients. You did a custom sectional for them and they cannot stop raving about it! Now they are looking for me to come up with something for another room and I immediately thought of you. I have to go and take more precise measurements, but basically, they need a small scale sofa with an attached corner chair. I think it would have to be something that is a custom size since it has to fit "just so" into a corner. If I were able to send you accurate measurements, sketches and specifications, would this be something you are able to do? We would also want an ottoman with it.

Our sectional sleeper sofa arrived on Sunday and we are delighted with all of its features. We looked many places, including some which offered custom options, but were unable to find a combination of all we wanted. Then we found CarolinaChair who offered everything that we were looking for. We chose the Roth sofa for the basic design and back cushions from the Byron collection. We also chose 5" seat cushion borders with the fiber down option which are particularly great for the extra height and support that we need. The extra few inches added to the sleeper sofa gave us the perfect fit for our space. Now we have it all: fit, comfort and a great looking sectional. Family and friends love it too. When we added the extra inches to the sofa, we did not consider how difficult a task it would be for the delivery men to get through two hallways. There was only the size of a hair to spare, but the guys did not allow the sofa to touch a wall or scratch the hardwood floors. What a marvelous job they did (and they were on time as well). I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful job on the replacement cushions for my old wicker furniture. These pieces were an odd size and I could not find anything ready-made to fit and the store cushions were thin and lacked the tufting we liked on the original. The cushions you made are far more beautiful and well-crafted than anything ready-made and you can really feel the quality when you sit on the chaise. The Sunbrella fabric should hold up much better on our screened porch. I plan to spend some quality time on that chaise with a good book. Everyone who comes to our home fights over that chaise but the cushion was so faded and worn. I'm thrilled to have it back looking good as new.

I've also enclosed a photo of the small sectional we ordered 7 years ago. We bought it originally for our old house and then purchased slipcovers when we knew we were moving to the beach. The sofa is still good as new after all this time. We've washed the slipcovers twice and the whole sofa is still just perfect.

You asked for feedback on the delivery service. We were given a delivery window of 3-7 on Friday evening. We got a call around 6:30 saying things weren't going well and they'd be closer to 8:30/9. And they got here a little after 9. It sounds like they had some seriously bad luck on this particular day, and they really were as nice as could be. It was a bit odd to take delivery in the dark, after the kids' bedtime on a Friday night, but they managed to get everything in through a kind of tight space without any issues.

We really love the couch! It's is both comfortable and attractive. When I first called CarolinaChair, I was just looking for someone to make an ottoman with my material to match a couch we had not yet purchased. When Cathy Fry asked why we weren't buying the couch from her online, I told her that was not anything we would consider. But after talking to her and looking on her web site - we decided to go ahead with it.

Cathy spent a lot of time with us figuring how to make the couch so that it would fit both into the door to the apartment and the door of the room it was going in. We looked at pictures and measured our doors and an existing couch we have that had gone through the door. She suggested the arms of one and the back of another with the style we wanted, then sent me many color swatches so that I didn't only see the color, but felt the fabric, too. It is a perfect fit for the room! There were no problems getting it into the doors it needed to enter.

The delivery company was wonderful. They not only got it here much quicker than we expected, but the men knew how to do everything and wanted to be sure that everything was to our liking before they left.

I will recommend CarolinaChair to everyone I talk with, and when the old couch begins to feel too old for our new apartment, we will probably pick another fabric and order again.

"Terrific" is the word that best describes my "Carolina Chair" experience! My wife and I had spent more hours than I care to remember traveling from local furniture store to local furniture store in search of a new sectional. Nothing seemed to meet our needs. In desperation I decided to search the internet and I am glad I did. I came across your site and was immediately intrigued. The site was easy to navigate and presented us with multiple configurations, styles, and fabric options - and the promise of further customization if we needed it. The "testimonial" section was very helpful and reassuring as we, especially my wife, were skeptical of buying a sectional without seeing it and sitting on it.

When I called, you couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. You patiently walked me through the process and answered my many questions - during that initial call and many subsequent calls. You were more responsive both by phone and e-mail than I could ever have reasonably expected. Your willingness to send me multiple samples to aid us in making the right fabric choice was very much appreciated. The burgundy with the black piping that we chose looks great - and it is EXTREMELY comfortable. In addition, I needed the sectional to be precisely the size stated on the site because of the room configuration and when it arrived - just when you said it would! - it fit perfectly.

As you know, to provide the finishing touch to the sectional we ordered five pillows. They arrived yesterday and they look great as well. They really are a nice complement to the furniture.

Wow! You and your brother really know how to please a customer! Your beautiful sectional is a perfect fit for our den. With crisp contemporary lines, a warm neutral tone and ball feet in the traditional style of our oriental rug, it just can't get any better! Additionally, its 37" overall height lends importance to the pieces. How exciting not only to be able to custom order, but to have everything work out without a glitch. I was sold on your company as soon as I popped into your website CarolinaChair.com. It's absolutely amazing. I figured that if you put as much effort into your business as you did in your web design, I was in for a treat. My follow-up on the phone with you was just as positive. Although my husband and I were concerned that we couldn't physically check the comfort of the sectional, I felt confident that we could trust your guidance. And so I placed our order on December 19. You emailed me less than 4 weeks later that our order was shipped on January 14, and today on the 18th, it arrived! What a pleasure to receive a shipment earlier than anticipated. The delivery servicemen were excellent. When the corner piece balked at the door opening to the den, one, two, three, they had the door off its hinges. The furniture was set up in ten minutes time and the door replaced within another thirty seconds and off they went to their next delivery. Now to test it out! My husband and I discovered that although the Microfibre fabric feels super soft and plush, the back cushions offer firm support and the seat cushions are comfy enough to stretch out on for napping. Our furniture arrived yesterday. I could say I was speechless but that has never happened. It is beautiful!! I sit in a chair across from it so I can look at it. It has been fun calling friends to come over. I did have some mention they would be scared to order without sitting on it first. So I was a little concerned about that. Cathy - We just love our sectional, loveseat and ottoman! We were so pleased to be able to customize all elements of a sectional for our playroom that we were looking for - virtually indestructable, durable fabric, an amazingly comfortable queen-sized sleeper and the perfect configuration for us. I want to tell you what a pleasure it was doing business with you. In the course of the building and furnishing of our house in the Caribbean, we dealt with many companies, as you can imagine. I had been told that it would take between three and four months for couches to arrive. After finding your company on the web, I called and spoke with you on the phone. You told me that the order would arrive in six weeks. Several friends more experienced than I am in furnishing a house, advised me not to count on that. Nevertheless, six weeks later, the couches arrived. Your website is very easy to navigate, and there are plenty of choices. Even with the special order of Sunbrella fabric, the wait time was half of any other company which we had found.

I do love my new sofa. I tried the air mattress on the sleeper and it is wonderful--can't believe it. No more achin' backs from sleeping on the sofa bed. Having the swatches ahead of time was so important when deciding on color and fabric. I really appreciated the ability to modify design--the lower arm height for our sofa is perfect and you still get good arm support. We are planning on having this sofa for a long time at our cottage. The delivery was good -- they were a day late, but called at the time they were supposed to be at our cottage and asked if the next day was possible--the truck was being repaired at the warehouse. I'm glad I planned on being at the cottage an extra day. View photo

FYI: The 3-piece sectional arrived today. It looks terrific, is just as we ordered it, and really completes the “living area” of our home comprised of the kitchen, dining, homeschool/office (and now) the sitting areas. The in-laws and I agree that it certainly helps make my case that I provide them with Xtreme In-law Care. (They are caring for our home while we’re away on the next segment of our vacation. We leave tomorrow so the time is perfect). I’d try it out the new sectional but my mother-in-law has commandeered it for the duration of her visit!

We are so thrilled with the sectional we just ordered from CarolinaChair, because they and only they allowed us to work out the exact configuration of our sofa sectional "OUR WAY". Not their way, which is how the big mail order retailers PB and C & B make their customers choose. We have a very small room and it had to be planned very carefully in order to function for us. We used graph paper and plotted out various units according to the dimensions given on their website. Unless I am very much mistaken, I am sure we will order another sectional for our living room, since I'm sure my husband will find our present sofas very much wanting now that we have the a quality product to compare against. Thank you Fry Family and all who work in the factory for keeping American craftsmanship alive and well.

Cathy, we got it today at 6:30am! Thank God my husband was awake - they had said 7am-9am. Holy Cow, that was early! I forgot to send you a note to say thank you for all the great work you did. We got the sectional and we love it. As you probably noticed my husband Jeff was very sceptical in me purchasing a sectional online, but you guys were great. I love it. It fits perfectly and is so comfortable. The only problem is that I am afraid my marraige will end over this thing. Since we got it Jeff has only slept in bed once, and that was because we had a guest sleeping on the couch! We have a comfy bed too!

It was very difficult to get any kind of contact that was useful from the shipper, but they finally came and set it all up well. Once again, thank you for having the sofa we wanted. Great quality too!
